One-fifth of children in America today live in homes affected by hunger. Children living with hunger cannot grow and thrive, and they certainly cannot focus on learning and classroom performance. The federal government can make real progress on child hunger and the related problem of childhood obesity. First Focus advocates for smart policies and real resources for proven initiatives like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and the National School Lunch Program.
